Ingredients For spanish rice

  • 3 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 1 c
    white rice
  • 1
    onion
  • 1/4 c
    red bell pepper
  • 1/4 c
    green bell pepper
  • 1
    tomato
  • 1
    green chiles
  • 2 c
    water
  • 2 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/8 c
    cilantro, fresh

How To Make spanish rice

    Prepare and arrange ingredients before cooking. Dice Onion, Tomato, Peppers, and Chile. Measure and organize all ingredients.

    Heat oil in a large skillet over Medium-High heat. Add rice and begin to sautee. After a few minutes, begin adding onions, bell peppers and chile. Cook until rice is brown and onions are tender.

    Stir in water and tomatoes, season with chile powder, salt and pepper.

    Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, or until rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed. Add Cilantro. Stir and let stand about 8-10 minutes to setup.
