Ingredients For my mexican rice

  • 1/2 lb
    long grain enriched rice
  • 1-8oz can
    tomato sauce
  • 1 sm
    chopped jalapano
  • 1 md
    chopped onion
  • 1 md
    chopped tomato
  • 2 pkg
    sozan,goya - con azafran
  • 1 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 2 lg
    heaping tablespoons shortning
  • 3 c
    water
  • 1 tsp
    garlic salt

How To Make my mexican rice

  • 1
    in a lg skillet heat shortning, add rice till slightly brown , add choppped onion,jalapano add, all seasonings cook for 3 mins than add chopped tomato, tomato sauce add water cover simmer on very low heat 30 to 40 mins do not stir or peak
