1 clong grain rice, uncooked

1 mdonion, chopped (1/2 cup)

2 1/2 cwater

1 tspsalt

1 - 2 tspchili powder (according to ones own taste)

1/8 tspgarlic powder

1/2 cgreen bell pepper, chopped

1 cantomato sauce (8 ounces)

1 cantomatoes(15 ounce)
- IF YOU PREFER YOUR'S WITH MEAT, JUST PRE-BROWN 1 LB. GROUND BEEF AND ADD IT IN STEP 2
How To Make mom's best spanish rice

1Heat oil in 10 inch skillet over medium heat. Cook rice and onion in oil about 5 minutes, stirring often, until rice is golden brown and onion is tender.

2Stir in all remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling; reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally until rice is tender.
