Ingredients For jalapeno corn bread with meat

  • 1 can
    #303 can of cream style corn
  • 2
    eggs well beaten
  • 1 c
    sweet milk
  • 1/4 -1/2 c
    bacon drippings (can sub. with cooking oil)
  • MIX AND SET ASIDE
  • 1 c
    yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp
    salt
  • MIX AND SET ASIDE
  • 1/2
    lb of ground beef
  • BROWN MEAT IN SKILLET SEASON WITH A LITTLE GARLIC POWDER AND DRAIN ON PAPER TOWELS
  • IN SEPERATE BOWLS OR PILES ON LARGE CUTTING BOARD

    lg onion chopped fine
  • 1/2
    lb shredded longhorn cheese
  • 4
    canned jalapeno peppers chopped fine

How To Make jalapeno corn bread with meat

    Heat oven to 350 degrees
  • 2
    Grease a large Cast Iron Skillet and place in oven to warm while preparing the batter, meat etc. listed above.

    When all steps are completed sprinkle a little dry corn meal on bottom of the heated skillet and add 1/2 of the batter. Sprinkle cheese, meat, onions, and peppers. Pour the rest of the batter on top.

    Bake till done about an hour. Should be a nice golden brown.
