You can mix this up for yourself and always have it on hand at a fraction of the cost of commercial chili powder. Can be used for seasoning chili, taco meat, meatloaf, beans or any other dish that needs a little zip. Use 2-4 tablespoons for each pound of meat

Ingredients For diy chili or taco seasoning (sallye)

  • 1/2 c
    light chili powder
  • 1/2 c
    dark chili powder
  • 1/2 c
    ground cumin
  • 2-4 Tbsp
    paprika
  • 1-3 Tbsp
    cayenne pepper (depending on how hot you want it)
  • 1-3 Tbsp
    ground oregano
  • 1-2 Tbsp
    garlic powder
  • 1-2 Tbsp
    onion powder
  • 1-2 tsp
    dried coriander (optional)

How To Make diy chili or taco seasoning (sallye)

    Place all ingredients in mixing bowl and mix well Spoon into airtight jar and store in pantry with other spices. Will keep indefinitely if kept covered and not subjected to excess heat.

    Use 2 to 4 tablespoons per pound of meat, depending on how spicy you like your dishes.
