I used to make this all the time for tupperware parties and family gatherins with rave reviews. It is easy to fix ahead of time and great on a hot summers day. Just add fun.

Ingredients For cold taco salad

  • 1 can
    refried beans
  • 1 jar
    favorite salsa
  • 1
    16 oz. sour cream
  • 1/4 c
    taco sauce
  • 2 c
    shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2
    chopped onion
  • 1/2
    chopped green pepper
  • 1-2
    chopped. seeded fresh tomato
  • 1
    head lettuce, chopped
  • 1 pkg
    tortillo chips, large bag

How To Make cold taco salad

  • 1
    mix first 8 ingredients in a very large bowl, cover and refrigerate until time to serve
  • 2
    clean and chop lettuce , cover and refrigerate until time to serve
  • 3
    as people put the taco blend on plates, they can top with lettuce and stir in dip chip into and eat.

    I don't mix lettuce in main dish, as it will wilt and get soggy, this way leftovers are better.
