This is an old family fav, and I am sure I made it at least once a week at their request. It's rich and delicious.

Ingredients For chile con queso

  • 1 lg
    can ortega whole green chiles
  • 1 lb
    monterey jack cheese grated
  • 1 lb
    cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2
    eggs beaten
  • 1 sm
    can evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 2 can
    tomato sauce

How To Make chile con queso

  • 1
    Seed and devein chiles, tearing in strips. Layer cheeses and chiles in 1 1/2 qt casserole 3 times until all used.

    Mix together well, beaten eggs, can milk, and flour. Pour mixture over layers and bake 45 min at 375 deg. 15 min before done pour 2 cans tomato sauce over top.

    Let sit for 5 min before serving.
