I created this meatloaf recipe in the style of a Seattle Hot Dog. The filling inside this meatloaf includes sauteed onions, jalapenos, and cream cheese. There's no cabbage in this recipe.

Ingredients For seattle meatloaf

1 Tbspavocado oil

1 lgvidalia sweet onion, peeled and diced

3fresh jalapeno peppers, sliced

3 Tbsphoney mustard

2 lblean ground beef

3/4 cpanko bread crumbs

3egg whites
-
1packet dry onion soup mix
-
2 tspcrushed red pepper flakes

3/4 csweet and spicy barbecue sauce

16 ozcream cheese, softened
-
8 ozMonterey jack cheese, shredded
How To Make seattle meatloaf

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced vidalia onion and sliced jalapenos and saute for 5 minutes or until tender. Remove from heat and stir in the honey mustard.

3In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg whites, dry onion soup mix, red pepper flakes and barbecue sauce; mix well until blended.

4Add half the meat mixture into a 9x5-inch loaf pan. Spread the cream cheese over the meat mixture.

5Add the sauteed onion-jalapeno mixture and sprinkle with shredded Monterey jack cheese. Top with remaining half of the meat mixture.

6Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes before slicing.
