I create this delicious recipe. It's a cross between meatloaf and a grilled cheese sandwich. It's filled with bits of cooked grilled cheese sandwiches and it's so great with mac and cheese and cheesy mashed potatoes. I give this meatloaf recipe give an A.

Ingredients For grilled cheese meatloaf

  • 1 Tbsp
    margarine
  • 1 md
    vidalia sweet onion, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tsp
    cheese seasoning
  • 4 Tbsp
    grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 2 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1
    packet dry onion soup mix
  • 3 tsp
    steak seasoning
  • 2
    egg whites
  • 3/4 c
    panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 c
    crushed cheese sandwich crackers
  • 1 c
    processed cheese sauce
  • 1 c
    shredded monterey jack cheese
  • 1 3/4 c
    grilled cheese sandwich bits (about 3 sandwiches)
  • 3/4 c
    shredded sharp cheddar cheese

How To Make grilled cheese meatloaf

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

    Heat the margarine in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced vidalia onion and saute for 6 minutes, or until tender. Stir in the cheese seasoning and 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese. Remove from heat and set aside.

    In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, dry onion soup mix, steak seasoning, egg whites, bread crumbs, crushed cheese sandwich crackers and remaining Parmesan cheese. Mix well until blended.

    Press half of the meat mixture into the bottom of the prepared loaf pan. Spread the cheese sauce on half of the meat mixture. Add the sauteed onion mixture and shredded monterey jack cheese.

    Top with the grilled cheese sandwich bits over the shredded cheese and spread the remaining cheese sauce over the grilled cheese sandwich bits.

    Top with remaining meat to form a loaf. Sprinkle with shredded cheese on top.

    Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
