cubano sandwich (kentucky style)
If you have leftover pork roast, you MUST try this sandwich! It is sooooo good! You will not be disappointed! Your guests will be delighted if you serve a tray of these at your Super Bowl party or other casual gathering.

Ingredients For cubano sandwich (kentucky style)

2 slicehearty white bread (i use arnold's italian)

prepared yellow mustard

2 sliceswiss cheese, sandwich size

2 slicethin sliced ham

dill pickles slices (i use claussen's)

2 slicecooked pork loin roast (approx. 3/18" thick)

1 pinchsea salt (to taste)

1 pinchfresh ground black pepper (generous pinch)

1-1 1/2 Tbspbutter, softened
How To Make cubano sandwich (kentucky style)

1(Note: I use a George Foreman grill, but you may use a grill pan or skillet.)

2Preheat grill or pan on medium to medium-high setting.

3Spread or drizzle mustard on 1 slice bread.

4Layer on top, 1 slice swiss cheese, 2 slices ham, dill pickle slices and the pork.

5Sprinkle pork with salt and pepper.

6Place remaining slice of swiss cheese and slice of bread on top.

7Evenly spread top with 1/2 the butter.

8Place buttered side down on grill or pan.

9Butter top of bread, close lid and firmly press down.

10Flip and rotate sandwich 1/2 turn after 1 1/2 to 2 minutes; grill an additional 1 1/2 to minutes, until golden brown and cheese is melted (watch carefully so as not to burn.)

11Remove from grill or pan; let cool slightly before serving.
