This is a delicious brunch sandwich. I get raves when I have guests for lunch.

Ingredients For cinnamon-apple & muenster sandwich

  • 2 c
    sliced peeled tart apple
  • 5 tsp
    butter
  • 2/3 c
    chopped walnuts
  • 2 Tbsp
    honey
  • 6 Tbsp
    cream cheese
  • 2 tsp
    powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 8 slice
    raisin bread
  • 4 slice
    muenster cheese

How To Make cinnamon-apple & muenster sandwich

    In a large skillet, saute apple slices in 1 teaspoon butter until tender. Meanwhile, in a small skillet, cook and stir the walnuts over medium heat for 2 minutes or until lightly toasted.

    In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, confectioners' sugar, honey and cinnamon until smooth. Stir in walnut mixture. Butter 4 slices of bread and place buttered side down in a buttered, hot skillet. Spread the slices of bread with the cream cheese mixture; layer with Muenster cheese and apple slices. Butter one side of the remaining bread slices and place on top, butter on the outside.

    Toast sandwiches for 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
