sweet and sour pork

This is a good recipe when you dont have enough protien to go around. Pork or Chicken is good with this.

Ingredients For sweet and sour pork

  • SAUCE
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c
    ketchup
  • 1/2 c
    pineapple, crushed with juice
  • 1/4 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c
    water
  • 4 tsp
    soy sauce
  • 2 tsp
    fish sauce
  • 1 tsp
    red pepper flakes
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp
    ginger powder
  • 1 tsp
    sesame oil
  • 1 lb
    pork
  • 2 Tbsp
    corn starch
  • salt and pepper
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    oil
  • 2 c
    chinese vegetables, frozen not seasoned

How To Make sweet and sour pork

    In a large bowl, combine the first 11 ingrediants. Set a side. Set aside the frozen chinese veg. to thaw alittle.

    Cut pork into bite size shapes. Salt and pepper and on a plate or bowl sprinked the corn starch and coat each peice of meat.

    In a wok or large non stick pan add 2-3 tablespoon of oil and on med-high heat brown pork peices until golden brown.

    Add the sauce to the pan and let simmer until thicken. Add the vegetables and cook until vegetables are crisp tender. Serve over rice or noodles, garnish with pineapple.
