Growing up in the south, pig's feet was something we had a few times a year. My mom always made the best TROTTERS! This is my Asian revamped version. This isn't for everyone, but it sure is for me! Cooking with Love & Passion sw :)

Ingredients For spicy asian pig trotters

  • 3 lb
    pig’s feet, sliced
  • 4
    lime kaffir leaves
  • 1
    chunk of galangal, sliced
  • 6
    whole garlic cloves, sliced in half
  • 1
    habanera pepper, sliced in half
  • 3
    star anise
  • 1/2
    cinnamon stick
  • 1 Tbsp
    mixed peppercorns
  • 1 Tbsp
    black soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    fish sauce
  • 3 Tbsp
    dry sherry
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • *garnish- spring onions, toasted sesame seeds & cilantro*

How To Make spicy asian pig trotters

    Boil pig’s feet for about 15 minutes in Dutch oven and drain. Add pig’s feet back to Dutch oven. Cover with water. Add remaining ingredients to Dutch oven, bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and cook for 2 hours, until pig’s feet are tender. Remove pig’s feet from Dutch oven. Increase heat to concentrate the juice. Plate up pig’s feet, pour juice on pig’s feet and top with garnish. Enjoy!
