I wanted to make something different. I came up with this dish. They are bakedd breaded pork cutlets. Served with a nice savory onion wine sauce. It is delicious , and lower fat. Enjoy!

Ingredients For breaded pork with a savory wine sauce by noreen

  • 1 c
    seasoned bread crumbs
  • 3/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • 3/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 2 tsp
    sugar
  • 2 tsp
    ground mustard
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 - 2 lb
    pork sirloin chops or pork loin cut in to cutlets
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 2
    egg whites plus 1 whole egg
  • 2 Tbsp
    canola oil
  • SAUCE
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1
    large onion sweet or yellow
  • 1 1/2 c
    low sodium beef broth or stock
  • 1/2 c
    wine white or marsala.
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 4 Tbsp
    all purpose flour

How To Make breaded pork with a savory wine sauce by noreen

    Combine the first 7 ingredients in a bowl Mix well, and set aside for coating Pork.

    Oil foil lined sheet pan with the canola oil. Heat oven to 425 degree's.

    If using pork sirloin chops. No need to cut them. Cut Pork loin into pieces length wise. Cut each piece in to 1/4 inch slices. Then cut in to pieces all about the same size.

    Coat each piece of pork with flour. Dip in egg. Dip in crumbs last coating all sides.

    Place on oiled sheet pan, and bake for about 10-12 minutes, and flip over to other side. Cook an additional 10-12 minutes, or until meat thermometer reads 145 degree's.

    While pork is baking. Make the sauce. In a sauce pan. Melt the butter. Add onions and cook until light golden brown and soft.

    Mix in flour. Stir and cook until smooth. Add the broth, wine,worcestershire, salt, and pepper. Continue cooking until mixture boils. Boil snd stir for 5 minutes. This will boil down some of the wine. Salt and pepper to taste.

    Serve sauce over cutlets!
