Ingredients For hawaiian meatballs

  • 1 lb
    ground beef (lean is best)
  • 1 lb
    ground pork
  • 1 c
    crushed ritz crackers / or bread crumbs
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcertershire sauce
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/4 c
    milk or buttermilk
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • SAUCE
  • 1/2 c
    soy sauce, low sodium
  • 1/3 c
    brown sugar packed
  • 3 Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 1 c
    crushed pineapple
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 2 Tbsp
    corn startch + 3 -4 tbls water to thicken sauce
  • sesame seeds

How To Make hawaiian meatballs

    Preheat oven to 400. Grease a baking sheet.

    Combine all the meatball ingredients and form into small balls 1- 2 inches big. place on the baking sheet and bake for about 20 min.

    In a small bowl mix corn starch and 3-4 Tbs water and set aside. Mix remaining sauce ingredients in a sauce pan and place on Med heat and bring to a boil. Whisk in the cron starch mixture and stir till thick. Reduce heat and simmer till meatbslls are ready. If you feel the sauce is too thick you can always add a bit of water to it.

    When meatballs are cooked place in a large bowl and pour sauce over. Serve with rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds
