I must say I was pleasantly surprised when this turned out as good as it did. I originally saw this somewhere on Pinterest and it was on my phone but when I went back to find the recipe it was gone. So, I just added my own toppings and tried to remember what the recipe said. Anyway, it turned out great! --The amounts are all estimates because I didn't measure and we always get a pepperoni stick (whole) and slice our own instead of the thin sliced packed pepperoni. Either way, it's all good. Other than that, use what you have and make it your favorite way.

Ingredients For crockpot deep dish pizza

  • 1 can
refrigerated pizza crust dough or your own
  • 1/2 jar
pizza sauce, spicy (or a little more as we like alot of sauce)
  • 10-12 slice
pepperoni, sliced (we slice our own so it's thicker)
  • 9 -12 oz
    italian sausage, hot --- cooked
  • 1/2 bag
monterey jack cheese with jalapeno pepper, shredded
  • 1/2 bag
    mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 bag
    spinach, fresh
  • 1 can
    black olives, sliced (small)
  • pam, spray olive oil

How To Make crockpot deep dish pizza

  • 1
Spray your crockpot generously with Pam olive oil. Then place your dough down in the bottom of pan. Press it down and make it as even as possible. Add your pizza sauce (don't go to the edges --- leave a border of dough as you would a normal pizza), sausage, pepperoni. Add your shredded Monterey jack cheese to your liking.

Next add as much spinach as you like...I added about a 1/2 bag on top and then put the mozzarella cheese next. Don't forget your olives is adding them. Doesn't matter that the spinach is not pressed down as it will cook down over time.

Now cook on high for 2 to 2 1/2 hrs...I would check yours as each crockpot has a different temp for high and mine cooked up at about 2 hrs and 15 minutes. I removed the pizza with two rubber spatulas so I wouldn't scratch my crockpot.

Let it rest for about 5 minutes or so and then slice.

Here are the slices. (Just a side note: My husband was upset that he saw I put spinach on top but when took a bite of the pizza he loved it. Ate the spinach and all.) --I just love when that happens. hehe
