char siu (chinese bbq pork) my way
I tweaked the sauce on this recipe and it is so good I could drink it straight from the cup. Pork is succulent and flavorful.

Ingredients For char siu (chinese bbq pork) my way

1/8 cdark soy sauce

1/4 cregular soy sauce

1/4 choisin sauce

1/2 cmirin
-
1/8 cxiao hsing or shaoxing rice wine

1 tspchinese five spice powder
-
3 clovegarlic minced
-
1 inch piece ginger grated
-
1/2 tspsesame oil
-
1/2 tspchinese black vinegar or rice wine vinegar

2 lbpork butt roast
-
1/4 cscallions chopped for garnish
How To Make char siu (chinese bbq pork) my way

1Mix all ingredients except pork and scallions together. Marinate the pork overnight.

2Remove pork from marinade and place in roasting pan. Baste with marinade and roast at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

3Flip roast over and baste with marinade and roast another 30 minutes.

4Finish under broiler for 2 minutes each side. Let rest 10 minutes
