This is a new cheeseburger casserole recipe I created in a style of chicken cordon bleu. It is filled with black forest ham, sauteed mushrooms, and Swiss cheese.

  • 1 bag
    frozen diced hash brown potatoes
  • 1 c
    cubed white American cheese
  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1 c
    sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 3 tsp
    steak seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp
    Worcestershire sauce mixed with brown sugar
  • 2 tsp
    dried basil
  • 2 Tbsp
    margarine
  • 2 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 c
    whole milk
  • 3/4 c
    dijon mustard
  • 2 c
    shredded swiss cheese, divided
  • 6 slice
    black forest ham, sliced
  • 1 tsp
    seasoned pepper

How To Make corden bleu burger casserole

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    Coat a 9-x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Add diced hash brown potatoes and cubed white American cheese; mix well.

    Heat ground beef in a large, deep skillet over medium heat. Cook for 5 minutes until are no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.

    Stir in sliced mushrooms, steak seasoning, Worcestershire sauce/brown sugar, and basil. Remove for heat.

    Melt margarine in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour. Add milk and cook, stirring until the sauce is bubbling and thickens for 8 minutes. Remove from heat.

    Add Dijon mustard and 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese; stir until melted. Add beef-mushroom mixture and sliced black forest ham. Season with seasoned pepper.

    Spread mixture in a prepared baking dish and sprinkle with remaining sliced black forest ham and shredded Swiss cheese.

    Bake for 25 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
