My son loves this...he'll eat it till it's gone...lol! It's a lot like Goulash...add condiments, such as sour cream, extra onions, jalapeno slices etc... My son prefers it right from the pan, the way it is...you could serve it with a simple salad, and some crusty bread, and you'll have one tasty meal. Even better reheated. Enjoy! My photos

Ingredients For tasty taco mac

  • 16 oz
    cooked and drained - not rinsed, pasta, your choice - I used a blend
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 - 3/4 c
    green bell or jalapeno pepper, chopped
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 pkg
    1.25 size taco seasoning mix
  • 1 - 29 oz
    tomato sauce
  • 1 - 14.5 oz
    can, plum tomatoes, drained & chopped
  • 1 1/2 - 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 c
    shredded, cheddar cheese
  • condiments
    of your choice if any - is good alone

How To Make tasty taco mac

    Cook your pasta as stated on box or bag, drain - don't rinse.

    In a large skillet, brown ground beef, peppers and onions, until beef is no longer pink, and veggies are soft. Drain

    Add 1 1/2 packages of taco seasoning and 1/2 cup water. Simmer for a few minutes. (You can add 2 whole packages of seasoning if you wish for more taco flavor. think 1 1/2 is just right.)

    Add tomato sauce, chopped tomatoes, seasonings. Simmer until heated through.

    Stir in your pasta.

    Sprinkle cheese evenly on top, cover and remain cooking until cheese is melted. Enjoy!
