I've been making this recipe for years and it's a family favorite. I'm not a fan of ricotta cheese so I use cottage cheese instead. I hope your family enjoys this dish, too.

Ingredients For luscious lasagna

1 1/2lbs. ground beef

3/4cup chopped onion

1garlic clove, minced

116 oz. can tomatoes

115 oz. can tomato sauce

1tbsp. parsley flakes

1-2tbsp. sugar, according to taste

1tsp. salt
-
1tsp. basil
-
24oz. small curd cottage cheese
-
1/2cup grated parmesan cheese
-
1tsp. parsley flakes

1 1/2tsp. salt
-
1slightly rounded tsp. oregano
-
1box lasagna noodles
-
3/4lb. mozzerella cheese slices
-
1/2cup grated parmesan cheese
How To Make luscious lasagna

1Brown ground beef, adding onion, garlic, parsley, salt and basil. Mix tomatoes, tomato sauce and sugar. Add to meat mixture and stir well. Simmer for 20 min.

2While that cooks, prepare cottage cheese mixture. Cook noodles and drain.

3In a 13x9 baking dish, begin with layer of noodles, then a layer of cottage cheese mixture, mozzerella cheese, parmesan cheese, then begin with another layer of same. Cover and bake at 350 for 45 min.
