I usually like to simmer my spaghetti sauce for a few hours but this recipe is just as good when simmered for only a few minutes. Hence, it's great for something quick. I serve this over Angel Hair pasta along with Chicken Parmesan. Mmmmm, good!

Ingredients For italian sausage sauce

1 lbsweet italian sausage

1 mdonion, chopped

18 oz. sliced baby bella mushrooms

1 Tbspdried oregano
-
1 Tbspdried basil
-
1slightly rounded tsp. garlic powder

115 oz. can tomato sauce
-
115 oz. can stewed tomatoes
-
6 oz. can tomato paste
-
1/2 cwater
-
1/2 cred wine
-
1 1/2 Tbspsugar

salt and pepper to taste
How To Make italian sausage sauce

1In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, brown sausage, onion, mushrooms, garlic powder, oregano, basil, and salt/pepper.

2Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, and stewed tomatoes. Add water, wine and sugar. NOTE: Sugar should be to your taste so add 1 Tbsp. and see if it suits.

3Simmer for about 20-30 minutes. Serve over pasta.
