this is basically my fathers clam sauce recipe that I switched out the clams for italian sausage and added some sun dried tomatoes. It was delicious 8]

Ingredients For italian sausage dinner

  • 2 lb
    bulk italian sausage browned and drained
  • 1 lg
    onion diced
  • 3 tsp
    minced garlic
  • 3 tsp
    basil, dried
  • 2 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/4 c
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 4 oz
    sun dried tomato chopped
  • 8 oz
    mushrooms, canned drained
  • 1/2 c
    portabella mushrooms sliced
  • 32 oz
    chicken broth
  • 3 Tbsp
    cornstarch mixed with 1/2 cup water
  • 2
    bay leaves, dried

How To Make italian sausage dinner

    In a large skillet brown italian sausage, drain and set aside.

    In another skillet heat olive oil and add onion, garlic, basil, oregano, tomatoes,mushrooms, salt and pepper. saute until onions are translucent and mushrooms are tender.

    add chicken broth and bay leaves and simmer 5 to 10 minutes add italian sausage and simmer a few minutes, add the cornstarch and water and stir in and stir and continue to simmer until thickened

    serve over pasta of your choice with parmesan and some mozzarella cheese, and enjoy 8]
