homemade vodka sauce
My sister got this recipe from a co-worker many years ago. It is so good, that we make this all the time for our families, and serve it to guests at parties. It is always a hit. It is easy, and delicious. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Ingredients For homemade vodka sauce

16oz boxpenne pasta, cooked and drained

28oz cancrushed tomatoes

28oz canwhole tomatoes in tomato sauce

6-8 sliceprosciutto, cut into bite size pieces

1 lgonion, chopped
-
1 cheavy cream
-
1/4 cvodka
-
1 tspeach, salt, pepper, basil or to taste

olive oil
-
1 Tbspbutter

parmesan cheese to taste
How To Make homemade vodka sauce

1Cover bottom of a large skillet with a thin layer of olive oil. Saute onion in oil until lightly browned.

2In separate skillet, melt a tablespoon of butter and saute prosciutto until lightly browned (be careful not to burn it).

3When onion is browned, add both cans of tomatoes, vodka, salt, pepper, and basil. Bring to a low boil.

4Add heavy cream, and mix well. Add prosiutto with butter at this time. Check seasonings, and you can add a little more vodka if you want.

5Cover pan, and allow sauce to simmer on low for 1 hour.

6Meanwhile, cook penne pasta according to package directions, and combine with vodka sauce and parmesan cheese when sauce is done. Enjoy!!
