My daughter brought me this recipe from her Home Economics class two years ago and I finally got around to making it...I wasn't sure about it, when I read the ingredients...had no spices at all, so I added my touch to it, also added more soup and pasta than the recipe called for...more cheese too...' Well,I must admit the recipe had me fooled, it was awesome. One of those recipe that will be even better the next day. I hope you try it sometime... Enjoy!

Ingredients For easy spaghetti bake ~ daughter's

  • 10 oz
    spaghetti - cooked and drained ( al dente )
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    green bell pepper,chopped
  • 1/2 - 3/4 tsp
    each - salt & dried oregano
  • I also
    added about 1/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    each - pepper & garlic powder
  • 1 - 14.5 oz
    can of each - tomato & cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 - 1 can
    water ( i didn't quite add the full can)
  • 1 1/2 c
    shredded, sharp cheddar ( i used white )

    Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Cook pasta and drain. While pasta is cooking, in a large skillet - cook ground beef, onions, garlic, spices and peppers until vegetables are tender and beef is no longer pink. Chopping the beef up some as it cooks. Drain and return back to pan.

    Add the soups and water.Thoroughly blend. Simmer for about 5 minutes. I added some red pepper flakes as well.

    Drain pasta and place in a large bowl. Stir in 3/4 cup cheese and then stir in the sauce.

    Once mixed well, pour into a greased 4 quart casserole dish. I sprayed mine with non stick cooking spray. Sprinkle with remainder of cheese and place in oven.

    Bake for 25 - 30 minutes or until bubbly and heated through. Remove from oven and let set for about 5 minutes, before serving. Enjoy! I was absolutely surprised at how good this was.
