Wow! I made a do over of a fatty recipe I had. This was a huge hit in my home. It doesn't taste low fat at all. It has all of the richness of a high fat pasta dish. I made it at 10.5 grams of fat per serving, with the Bacon. Fool anyone with this dish. They will never know it is lower fat than the typical. Creamy pasta dishes out there.

Ingredients For low fat creamy bacon and shrimp veggie fettuccine

  • 3
    slices bacon raw then cooked. ( reserve 1 tablespoon of bacon grease. )
  • 2 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1 lb
    raw frozen or fresh shrimp peeled and tail removed
  • 2 c
    chopped broccoli florets (food processor)
  • 2
    carrots finely chopped ( i used food processor)
  • 12-13 oz
    fettuccine pasta (i used buitoni)
  • 1 c
    half and half cream,or( heavy cream) for higher fat. use half and half for lower fat version
  • 1 c
    skim milk, or half and half, use skim milk to make low fat version
  • 1 tsp
    dry basil
  • 1 pinch
    ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp
    garlic salt
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 c
    parmigiano reggiano
  • 1 - 2 Tbsp
    fresh chopped parsley
  • 1/4 tsp
    red pepper flakes (optional)

How To Make low fat creamy bacon and shrimp veggie fettuccine

    Place Broccoli in processor,and chop a few seconds 1 cup at a time. Chop carrots in processor in to small chunks. set aside.

    Cook bacon,and remove to set aside.Reserve 1 tablespoon of Bacon fat in pan. Add the Garlic and Shrimp. Cook for 1 minute on each side.

    Add the Broccoli and carrots to pan,and cook until shrimp is done. about 3 minutes. Pour contents in to a bowl and set aside. Start cooking the Fettuccine at this time. Boil until Aldente.

    In a bowl add Milk,Half and half,flour,garlic salt,black pepper,basil,and red pepper flakes. Whisk together until flour is well combined.

    Pour milk mixture in to pan and cook stirring constantly until thickened. Add the Parmigiano cheese,and stir well to combine. Stir in the Shrimp and veggies with the Fettuccine.Toss to Coat pasta and shrimp. Before serving. Sprinkle Chopped bacon and parsley on top of pasta.
