THIS IS THE WAY MY MOM USED TO MAKE BEEF STEW (with the exception of the red wine...I LOVE RED WINE IN MY COOKN SO I ADD IT IN ;) ....ANOTHER DIMENSION OF FLAVA...DELICIOUS ALONE OR SERVD ON RICE.

1 lbbeef stew meat (i had 1 lb 1 1/2 better :)

1 lgonion, chopd

1 1/2 cflour...seasond with 1 tsp each salt blk pepper n garlic powdr

3 Tbspvegetable oil

2 mdpotatoes, peeld n diced 1-2 "

1 lgcarrot, chopd

1 stalkcelery , slicd 1" pieces

1 cantomatoes, diced 14 oz

1 cantomato sauce ...sml can

1/2 cred wine
-
1/2 cbeef or chicken broth
-
a few sprigs of thyme

1DREDGE BEEF CUBES IN SEASOND FLOUR ....BROWN IN VEG OIL THEN ADD CHOPD ONION SAUTE TILL ONIONS R TENDER....DEGLAZE WITH RED WINE COOK FOR A MIN OR TWO

2ADD POTATOES, CARROTS, CELERY, THYME, CHOPD TOMATOES ,TOMATO SAUCE AND BROTH.

3STIR MIXTURE, COVER N SIMMER FOR 2 HOURS....STIRRING OCCASIONALLY :)

4REMOVE THYME STEMS N SEASON WITH S n P. TO TASTE. SERVE ON RICE IF DESIRED OR JUST SERVE WITH FORK....ENJOY ;)
