applesauce meat loaf
I first made this years ago, when my kids were little and they liked it when main dishes were a little sweet. I also suspect they liked it because it looks like a volcano.

Ingredients For applesauce meat loaf

2 sliceorowheat country white bread, shredded to bits

1/2 capplesauce, unsweetened

1 lbground meat (i use buffalo)

1egg, slightly beaten

1/4 cfinely chopped celery

2 Tbspfinely chopped onion

1 tspdijon mustard

1/2 tspsalt

dashpepper
- TOPPING

1/2 capplesauce, unsweetened

1 Tbspbrown sugar

1 1/2 tspvinegar

1/2 tspdijon mustard
How To Make applesauce meat loaf

1Combine bread crumbs and applesauce in a medium bowl. Add ground meat, egg, celery, onion, Dijon mustard, salt and pepper; blend thoroughly. Shape into a round loaf in an 8x8x2-inch baking pan.

2Combine topping ingredients in a small bowl. With a spoon make a crater-like depression in top of loaf. Pour topping into crater.

3Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
