I like my catfish spicy, so I use a Tbsp. of cayenne. You can adjust yours to fit your tastes.

Ingredients For fried catfish

  • 6
    catfish filets
  • 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    corn meal
  • cayenne pepper, to taste
  • 2
    eggs, beaten
  • oil

How To Make fried catfish

    In a shallow pan, mix flour, corn meal and cayenne pepper very well.
  • 2
    Dip filets in the egg.
  • 3
    Then dredge in the flour mixture to coat.
  • 4
    Heat oil in a skillet or deep fryer. Use enough oil to cover the fish.

    Cook until fish is done and flakes easily, Be sure not to crowd the filets when frying.
