Ingredients For ukrainian stewed chicken

1tender stewing chicken
-
1/2 cupseasoned flour
-
1/2 cupbutter
-
3cups boiling water
-
1small onion
-
1carrot, diced
-
1stalk of celery, diced
-
salt and pepper to taste
-
1/2 cupsour cream
-
1 TBSflour
How To Make ukrainian stewed chicken
-
1Cut chicken into serving pieces
and coat with the seasoned flour -
2Lightly brown in the butter and place into a roasting pan

3Add the boiling water, cover and cook in a 300 degree oven for 1 hour

4Add the veggies and seasoning and continue cooking 1 to 11/2 or till tender
-
5Blend the flour with the sour cream* and add to the chicken the last 1/2 hour of cooking
-
6* I find blending a tablespoon of the hot broth to the blended sour cream and flour helps eliminate curdling and repeat the addition of hot broth until it pours nicely.
