This recipe was born of neccesity, trying to keep a large apartment cool, and unable to afford a.c. The rice I made myself, the rest of the recipe was acquired on a refrigerator "hunt". Sometimes po'man meals are better than any expensive and time consuming one I can come up with...ijs!!

Ingredients For refridgerator rice by iris

  • 1 pkg
    rice a roni creamy 4 cheese blend
  • 3 c
    cooked rice, your choice
  • 2 lg
    boneless grilled chicken breast, sliced
  • 2 md
    spicy brats, thin sliced (i used johnsonville
  • 1 sm
    each, bell pepper and onion, diced
  • 2 Tbsp
    each, cumin and a-1 sweet mesquite dry rub
  • 1/2 pt
    mushrooms, or what's left in the fridge
  • 1 jar
    15 oz. medium queso
  • 1 stick
    butter

How To Make refridgerator rice by iris

  • 1
    Gather all ingredients, cook rice according to directions.
  • 2
    Rinse stove top rice of your own to remove excess starch. The butter and queso will make it creamy.
  • 3
    Add other ingredients one at a time, stirring after each addition.
  • 4
    Heat thru and serve.
