Ingredients For orange chicken - low calorie

  • 200 g
    chicken breast cut in cubes
  • 1 md
    egg white
  • 1 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    corn starch
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper
  • FOR THE SAUCE
  • 1 Tbsp
    soy sauce, low sodium
  • juice of 1 orange
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 2 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp
    ginger minced
  • FOR THE STARCH
  • 1 Tbsp
    corn starch
  • 4 Tbsp
    water

How To Make orange chicken - low calorie

    Mix chicken with egg white, flour, corn starch, salt, and black pepper. Keep aside.

    Mix the sauce ingredients together and keep aside.

    Mix the starch ingredients together and keep aside.

    Add two teaspoons oil in a medium pan, when hot add the chicken, and fry for 3 minutes on high. Turn off heat and immediately cover tightly with a lid and keep a side. The chicken will continue cooking and will stay tender.

    In a pan add the sauce mixture and let it come to a boil, and then add the green onion.

    Stir in the cornstarch mixture, when thick add the chicken, and let it cook on medium low heat for two minutes.

    Serve immediately.
