fred's chicken rub
This is my own version of a dry rub for chicken. I tried different rubs and they just didn't do it for me, so I decided to come up with my own. I don't know if it's that different from commercial rubs but I know it's made with fresh herbs and spices, and that makes a difference.

Ingredients For fred's chicken rub
-
2 Tbspnon-iodized salt
-
1 Tbspgarlic powder
-
1 Tbsponion powder
-
1 tspthyme, dried, ground
-
1 tspsage, dried, rubbed
-
1 tspblack pepper, ground
How To Make fred's chicken rub
-
1Put all ingredients in a pint canning jar. Shake to combine well.
-
2To use the rub first pat the chicken dry with a paper towel. Lightly brush or spray with olive oil. Next, sprinkle the dry rub on and lightly rub it into the oiled chicken.
-
3Now you can cook your chicken as usual. You can bake it, (350deg.) broil it, or bar-b-q it. Just before it's done, put your favorite B-B-Q sauce on it. I use my own Kansas City Style sauce on it. You can find that recipe on Just-a-pinch Recipe Club. You can join for free.
