you can make this from scratch or just put it together from left overs. i usually have this just after i have made a whole chicken the night before. you can use leftover turkey from thanksgiving or Christmas dinner if you like

Ingredients For down home chicken au' groton

1-2 lbshredded rotisserie chicken or whole chicken from the night before

8-10 lgrusset potatoes,cleaned well and sliced 1/4 inch thick

2 jarcheese sauce
- MIX THE TWO CHEESES TOGETHER WELL, SET 1/2 CUP OF MIXTURE ASIDE FOR TOPPING

1 lbshredded medium cheddar cheese
-
1 lbmozzarella cheese shredded,
- MAKE SURE YOU DRAIN ALL THE JUICES OUT OF YOUR CANNED VEGGIES, I LIKE USING FROZEN AS WELL

2 bagfrozen,well drained string beans or whole niblet corn

1/4 tspyou will need to add the same amount of each of the following, black pepper, salt(sea),garlic powder, onion powder, basil, and a italian spice of your choice

1 mdonion diced well but do not pulverize

2 cloveof fresh garlic diced small
How To Make down home chicken au' groton

1You will need to preheat oven to 350 degrees, spray the bottom of a 13x9 in baking pan, glass prefered. slightly dust pan with Italian bread crumbs, do not over do. set pan aside

2in a large skillet,shred and brown your chicken and add your onion and garlic and all your powdered spices, mix well and do not burn, once all is browned drain well

3layer your potatoes along the bottom, cover with the chicken you have torn off the bone and shredded, cover this with some shredded cheese. cover this with your chosen veggie. then pour evenly over top some of the cheese sauce.

4repeat layers till you come to the top ending with cheese sauce. then sprinkle a little more shredded cheddar,mozzarella cheese on top and some of the bread crumbs.

5bake for 1hr and 15min or till potatoes are easy to pierce with a fork. set aside and let stand 5min, spoon on to a plate
