This chicken has so much flavor and is so juicy. I used a rotisserie oven to make this and it was so good. Got to try this. Amazing

Ingredients For chinese roast chicken

  • 1
    chicken
  • 6 lg
    cloves of garlic whole
  • 1
    inch piece of ginger peeled
  • 1/4 c
    soy sauce
  • 3 Tbsp
    honey
  • 1 tsp
    chinese 5 spice
  • 1/2 tsp
    sesame oil
  • 1/4 c
    chinese shaoxing wine
  • skin coating
  • 2 Tbsp
    rice vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    honey
  • 2 Tbsp
    chinese shaoxing wine

How To Make chinese roast chicken

    Place ginger and garlic inside cavity of chicken. Mix soy sauce, honey, five-spice, wine, and sesame oil together. Place chicken in large plastic bag and pour marinade overtop. Seal bag and let marinate overnight in refrigerator.

    Remove chicken from marinade and discard the marinade. Keep the garlic, and ginger inside of chicken. Let chicken sit for 30 minutes at room temp to dry.

    Mix skin coating together and rub all over chicken. let chicken sit another 2 hours on counter turning and rubbing skin every 30 minutes.

    Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour.
