I LOVE grilled cheese sandwiches and hot wings. So, here is my recipe that combines both. Great on a nice cold day!

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Sharonne hit it out of the ballpark with this delicious Buffalo grilled cheese. It has just enough heat from the wing sauce and juiciness from the chicken. Of course, it wouldn't be a grilled cheese without the gooeyness from the cheese. The buttered Italian bread gives it a nice crunch too. More, please!

How To Make buffalo chicken grilled onions and cheese sandwich

  • 1
For the perfect grilled cheese sandwich, make sure your butter and cheese are at room temperature. The butter spreads easier on the bread and the cheese melts just heavenly!
  • Cooking chicken and onions in a skillet.
    2
Heat a skillet on medium and add grilled chicken cubes and diced onions. Season to taste with the garlic pepper and powder. I use pre-cooked grilled chicken breast cubes from Tyson or John Boule. When chicken and onion mixture is warmed through add the Franks Red Hot Wing Sauce. Add as much or little as you want! Reduce heat to low and let simmer.
  • Buttering two pieces of bread.
    3
Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  • A slice of cheese and chicken/onion mixture on bread.
    4
Preheat a griddle or skillet on medium and add one slice of bread buttered side down. Reduce the heat by one notch. Add a slice of the cheese and let it start to melt. Then add a few spoonfuls of the chicken and onion mixture. Add another piece of cheese.
  • Second slice of cheese and bread added to skillet.
    5
Place the other slice of bread on with the buttered side on top.
  • Frying the sandwich until golden brown.
    6
Cook until golden brown or how crispy you like your bread. Then flip and cook until bread is to your desired browning and crispness.
  • Buffalo Chicken Grilled Onions and Cheese Sandwich on a plate with chips.
    7
Slice and serve with chips, soup, or a salad! Enjoy!
