hamburger pie
This is one of my husbands favorites. I used to make it for my son when he was little and now I just make it for my husband quite often during the winter months. We still love it.

Ingredients For hamburger pie

1 lb lean ground beef
-
1/2 cup chopped onion

2 chopped garlic cloves
-
1 16 oz. can cut green beans, drained

1 101/2 oz can condensed tomato soup
-
instant potato flakes, made according to pkg. 4 serving amount
-
chopped fresh/dry parsley or paprika for garnish
-
dot with butter over potatoes
How To Make hamburger pie

1In a skillet combine meat, onion, garlic if using, 1/2 tsp salt, and a dash of pepper

2Brown meat lightly Drain excess fat from pan

3Add drained green beans and tomato soup

4Turn into a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish

5Prepare instant mashed potatoes according to package directions.

6Prepare enough mashed potatoes for 4 servings

7Season with salt and pepper

8Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the meat mixture

9Dot with butter and sprinkle chopped parsley or sprinkle paprika over top

10Bake uncovered in a 350F for 25-30 minutes until top is lightly browned
