blühende kraut (blooming kraut)
There isn't an ounce of German in me, but my husband who grew up with his grandmother's German cooking loves this dish. I have used different sausages; chicken-apple, Polish, smoked and even hot dogs for a kid's version. You can use your favorite mustard as well plus serve extra on the side. This is super easy, good comfort food. I like to serve it with a nice mixed green salad and French bread.
