I got this recipe a from a friend a long time ago. It is tasty and I am not even a fan of red sauce. I modified it a bit.

Ingredients For baked noodles in sour cream

  • 1 bag
    egg noodles 8 oz
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 c
    cottage cheese
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 jar
    tomato sauce 15 oz
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 1/2 c
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3/4 c
    mozzarella cheese, shredded

How To Make baked noodles in sour cream

    preheat oven to 350.
  • 2
    cook noodles according to package directions. drain and set aside.
  • 3
    In stockpot or dutch oven, melt butter and brown meat. (can also use ground turkey instead of beef).Add seasonings and onions and tomato sauce. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes.

    In a large bowl, combine noodles, cottage cheese and sour cream. Spoon half of mixture in bottom of 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. cover with meat/sauce mixture. Top with remaining noodle mixture. Sprinkle cheeses on top.

    Bake 20-25 minutes until cheeses melt.
