With Cathy's recipe, there's no need to search out a taco truck. These street tacos are just as good as anything you could buy. The seasoning really amps up the flavor of the beef. Lime juice adds a lovely, tangy citrus flavor. This is a simple taco recipe that will really hit the spot.

Ingredients For street tacos

  • 1 lb
    beef for tacos
  • 2 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 1 Tbsp
    cumin
  • 1 Tbsp
    dried oregano
  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/2 lg
    onion, diced small
  • bunch
    cilantro, diced
  • 3
    limes
  • corn tortillas
  • 1 can
    ranchera salsa

How To Make street tacos

  • Cooking the beef with spices.

    Heat up oil and brown your diced beef seasoned with salt, pepper, cumin, oregano, and garlic powder. I squeeze one of the limes while cooking all over meat add to the flavor.
  • Preparing the toppings for the tacos.

    While meat is cooking, dice up your toppings - onions, cilantro, and limes.

    Then put together the tacos. Warm up tortillas on comal (or in a skillet). Add your meat and toppings. I always add some ranchera salsa.
