Ingredients For smothered steak with mushrooms and onions

  • 1 lb
    ground sirloin
  • 1/2 c
    breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 pkg
    fresh mushrooms (8 oz)
  • 1 lg
    onion
  • 1
    envelope brown gravy mix
  • 1 c
    water

How To Make smothered steak with mushrooms and onions

    Combine first ground sirloin, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into a patty.

    Place large skillet over med-high heat; when hot add patties. Cook 6 minutes on each side. Remove and set aside.

    Add mushrooms and onions to skillet; saute 10 minutes. Mix gravy mix and water. Add to skillet; cook 3 minutes stirring constantly. Return patties to skillet and cook 2 more minutes.
