I usually brown hamburger buns in the broiler and then top the bun with the meat mixture and serve. A quick and easy recipe.
I add the apple cider vinegar to give the meat mixture a little "bite".

1/2whole large onion, diced

1large green bell pepper, diced

1 cwater

2 Tbspbrown sugar

2 tspchili powder (more to taste)

1 tspdry mustard

1/2 tspred pepper flakes (more to taste)

worcestershire sauce (to taste)

2 Tbsptomato paste (optional)

tabasco sauce (optional, to taste)

salt to taste

1 tspapple cider vinegar (optional)

freshly ground black pepper (to taste)

kaiser rolls or hamburger buns

How To Make sloppy joes

1Add butter to a large skillet or dutch oven over medium high heat. Add ground beef and cook until brown. Drain most of the fat and discard.

2Add onions, green pepper, and garlic. Cook for a few minutes, or until vegetables begin to get soft.

3Add ketchup, brown sugar, chili powder, dry mustard, and water. Stir to combine and simmer for 15 minutes, adding salt and pepper to taste. Also add tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco if desired. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.

4Spread rolls with butter and brown on a griddle or skillet. Spoon meat mixture over the rolls, topping with a slice of cheese (optional). Serve.
