This recipe came out of necessity! I had intended on making a slow cooked meatloaf dinner and plans changed. Skillet meatloaf worked great! In under 30 minutes I had a yummy dinner - and now I'm sharing it with you. For all those busy folks out there....this one is for you - Enjoy!

Ingredients For skillet meatloaf steaks with tomato gravy

  • 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    old fashioned oats
  • 1/4 sm
    onion, diced
  • 1/2 md
    bell pepper, diced
  • 1 lg
    egg
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    mccormicks grill mates montreal steak seasoning
  • FOR TOMATO GRAVY:
  • 1 can
    campbell's tomato soup
  • 1/2
    of the tomato soup can water
  • 1 tsp
    brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make skillet meatloaf steaks with tomato gravy

    In a microwave safe bowl heat onions, and bell peppers for 1 minute to soften. Set aside.

    In a mixing bowl add ground beef, egg, oats, the cooked peppers and onions.

    Add worcestershire sauce and montreal steak seasoning.

    Mix well to combine.

    Separate into 4 sections.

    Form into 4 patties. I have one of those nifty burger making gadgets, but hands work just as well.

    Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a medium skillet on medium heat. Add patties and cook until browned - about 5 minutes.

    Turn and cook until browned another 5 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

    Drain oil from skillet. Add tomato soup, brown sugar, and worcestershire sauce for gravy. Stir to combine. Add patties to gravy and turn to coat. Cook on medium low for 10 minutes.
