When I was a kid we use to eat this all the time. My dad was a hunter and we always had ground venison and ground beef around so my mom would come up with unusual ways of using the meat.

Ingredients For mom's sloppy joe pie

  • 1 lb
    ground beef or venison
  • 1 lg
    onion chopped
  • 3 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    ketchup
  • 3 Tbsp
    mustard
  • 2 Tbsp
    relish
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 8 slice
    cheese of your choice
  • 1
    pie crust shell

How To Make mom's sloppy joe pie

    Brown the beef, onion, garlic, and salt until meat is done.
  • 2
    Meanwhile bake pie crust until golden about 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

    Add ketchup, mustard, relish, and worcestershire to meat. Stir well to combine.

    Put 4 slices of cheese in bottom of pie shell. Top with meat mixture. Then add the last 5 slices of cheese.

    Bake in oven another 10 minutes to melt the cheese.
