This recipe was given to me over 25 years ago by my daughters grandmother. It has always been a favorite comfort food for us and we love it! Please ENJOY!

Ingredients For grams perfect pot roast

  • 3-4 lb
    beef chuck roast
  • GRAVY INGREDIENTS
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 2
    packages of brown gravy mix
  • 1 c
    red wine
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    chili sause
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 2 tsp
    dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp
    worcester sause
  • 1 tsp
    minced garlic
  • VEGETABLES TO ADD
  • 1 bag
    small baby carrots
  • 6-8
    russet or red potatoes, cut into pieces
  • 1
    small onion, chopped into pieces
  • 1 bag
    frozen peas

How To Make grams perfect pot roast

    Sear the roast in pan of EVOO on Stove Top first
  • 2
    Mix all ingredients together, pour over meat in Roasting Pan or Crock Pot.

    Crock Pot directions - Place carrots on bottom of pot, place meat on top and turn on Hi. Cook on Hi about 4 hours. Add Potatoes and let cook another 2 hours on Hi. Add Peas and cook on Low the remainder of time until meat is flaky and the potatoes and carrots are tender.

    If cooking in oven; Cook at 325 degrees for 4 hours. After 2 hours add carrots, potatoes and onion. For last 30 minutes add the frozen peas.

    Remove from heat and Serve! Delish!!!
