    ground beef
  • 1
    red onion,chopped
  • 4
    fresh jalapenos,sliced
  • 6
    cooked bacon strips,crumbled
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried chili pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 6
    russet potatoes,peeled and thinly sliced
  • 15
    frozen jalapeno poppers
  • 2 c
    shredded pepper jack cheese
  • CHEESY HABANERO SAUCE
  • 2
    (10 3/4 ounce) cans condensed cheddar cheese soup
  • 3 Tbsp
    habanero sauce
  • 3/4 c
    heavy cream
  • 1/2 c
    whipped cream cheese
  • 1/2 c
    shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder

How To Make el diablo burger casserole?

    In a large skillet,cook the ground beef,chopped red onion,sliced jalapenos and crumbled bacon,stir until no longer pink;drain fat over a colander.

    Return to pan and add chili pepper flakes and black pepper;cook until the meat is lightly browned,set aside.

    For the sauce:in a medium bowl,combine soup,habanero sauce,heavy cream,whipped cream cheese,parmesan cheese,onion powder and garlic powder;mix well.

    In a greased 13 x 9-inch baking dish,add sliced potatoes and jalapeno poppers;mix well.Pour the sauce onto potato mixture and top with ground beef mixture.

    Bake covered with foil for about 1 hour at 350 degrees F.

    Uncover and continue baking for another 20 to 30 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.

    Remove from oven,sprinkle with shredded pepper jack cheese over the casserole;return to oven for 4 to 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
