I have been eating burgers this way for more than 50 years. Delicious! Try one...you'll want another! Directions are for one burger, Multiply all ingredients by the number of servings you need for your family.

Ingredients For dusty's "chow" burger

  • 4 - 5 oz
    ground chuck
  • 1
    hamburger bun
  • 2 Tbsp
    yellow prepared mustard
  • 2 Tbsp
    chow chow
  • 1 slice
    sweet onion

How To Make dusty's "chow" burger

    Roll meat into a ball; flatten into circle slightly larger than bun. It will shrink some when cooked.

    Pan fry or otherwise cook patty. Do NOT press on meat patty while cooking; this presses flavor from your burger. Don't overcook.

    Toast or grill bun if you like. Spread mustard on both sides of bun.

    Place burger on bun, then onion, then the chow chow. Grab a napkin and have yourself a larpin' good time!
