The original recipe for this chili came from allrecipes.com and was posted by Deb. This chili received over 2000 reviews with a five star rating. I have tweaked it to fit my family's taste. It is an excellent chili and both easy and fast to make.

Ingredients For debdoozie's blue ribbon chili

  • 2 lb
    ground chuck
  • 1 lg
    onion, diced
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 2 1/2 c
    tomato sauce
  • 1 8 oz. jar
    salsa*
  • 4 Tbsp
    williams chili seasoning, original
  • 1 15 oz. can
    pinto beans, do not drain
  • 1 15 oz. can
    red beans, do not drain
  • 1 15 oz. can
    light red kidney beans, do not drain

How To Make debdoozie's blue ribbon chili

    In a dutch oven over medium heat, combine the ground beef and the onion and saute until meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain grease, if desired.

    Add the ground black pepper, garlic powder ,tomato sauce, salsa, chili seasoning mix and beans. Mix well, reduce heat to low and simmer for at least an hour.

    *The salsa heat is up to you...mild, medium or hot.
