chicken fried steak
(1 rating)
What puts these beauties over the top is frying them in apple wood bacon grease and salted butter. I mean you only live once right so why not live it over the top! And since I’m serving these with potato salad, I’ll save the drippings and bits of steak that are left on the bottom of the frying pan and one day soon when I make something that I would love to serve gravy with, I’ll pull it out and before you know it another delicious meal.

How To Make chicken fried steak
-
1Marinade the cube steaks in the buttermilk & hot sauce for at least 1 hour.
-
2While the steaks are doing their thing, get the flour mixture ready to go.
-
3Bring the steaks out of the refrigerator and pat them with some paper towels to get as much of the buttermilk/hot sauce mixture off of them.
-
4When you are ready to fry the steaks, get the bacon grease and butter all melted and keep it on a medium low heat.
-
5Dip in the flour, and let them sit out for about 15 minutes to set the breading.
-
6Fry the steaks till they are golden brown on both sides about 4 minutes each, depending on how well you like your steak done.
-
7I served this with potato salad…and rolls.
