The brown sugar bakes with the ground beef and caramelizes into a sweet sticky glaze. It is wonderful. Also the ginger gives it a pop of flavor and fragrance.

Ingredients For brown sugar meatloaf

  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c
    ketchup
  • 1 1/2 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 3/4 c
    milk
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 1 pkg
    dry onion soup mix
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 3/4 c
    finely crushed saltine cracker crumbs

How To Make brown sugar meatloaf

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 5x9 inch loaf pan. In a mixing bowl thoroughly mix all ingredients (except the ketchup and brown sugar) and shape into a loaf.

    Spread the brown sugar on the meatloaf and top with the ketchup. Bake in a preheated oven for 1 hour or until juices are clear.
