A game day favorite around our house. This chili has been refined over several years, including the addition of a couple of unexpected ingredients - Cocoa and Coffee, but believe me when I tell you, it is one of the best you will ever have! Enjoy!

Ingredients For brad's slow cooker chili

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 lb
    ground sweet italian sausage - removed from casing
  • 1
    cubanella pepper - seeded and chopped
  • 3
    jalapeno peppers - seeded and chopped
  • 1 lg
    onion, diced
  • 4 stalk
    celery, chopped
  • 3 clove
    garlic - minced
  • 2 can
    diced tomatoes (14.5 oz) - i like the fire roasted with garlic
  • 1 can
    crushed tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 2 can
    chile beans - drained
  • 3 Tbsp
    bacon bits
  • 1 c
    beer
  • 4 pkg
    powdered beef bouillon - or cubes
  • 2 Tbsp
    chile powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    dried oregano
  • 1 Tbsp
    minced dried onion
  • 1 tsp
    cumin
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp
    ground coffee

How To Make brad's slow cooker chili

    Brown first 7 ingredients in a skillet until meat is cooked. Drain and add to Slow Cooker
  • 2
    Add all remaining ingredients to slow cooker and cook 4 hrs on High or 6 hours on Low
  • 3
    Serve with Shredded Cheddar, Sour Cream and your choice of hot sauce!
